We are thrilled to introduce Scott Jividen as the next head Boys Soccer coach at Madras High School. He is no stranger to the program or MHS, he has spent the last 15 years as the assistant boys soccer coach for Madras High. He steps into the role after long-time head coach, Clark Jones, announced he is retiring.

“My hats off to Clark Jones. I wouldn’t be here without his support,” Jividen said. “It’s been an honor to coach behind him for all these years. I’ve learned a lot on and off the field. It’s been a great ride and a great experience.”

Jividen first started playing soccer at the young age of five years old. He is also a former MHS soccer player from 2000-2003 and is now coaching his alma mater. Jividen played soccer all four years of high school at the varsity level as the center fielder. He was team captain from 2001-2003 and graduated from Madras High in 2003. His first coaching experience with MHS was as a volunteer coach. After just one year of volunteering, he stepped into the assistant coach role where he’s been for the past 14 years.

“I think I’m most excited and most looking forward to shining a light on Madras soccer and helping MHS soccer get the recognition they so deserve,” he said. “ Letting everybody know that we are a soccer community. I also want to help MHS soccer grow to their full potential”

Jividen is no stranger to the program but he does hope to leave his imprint as the new head coach. Some things he hopes his players take away from their time on the field are having confidence in themselves and seeing the opportunities soccer can provide them.

“In regards to camaraderie, teamwork, and like I said a huge part is just confidence,” he said. “Building confidence in themselves individually as well as a team and working together.”

When Jividen isn’t coaching, he loves to be a dad. He is a big-time family man and loves to spend time with his four kids and his wife. He also loves to spend time outdoors and you may see him playing a round of disc golf at Juniper Hills Park.
