At Warm Springs K-8 Academy, students in grades 6-8 in the Native Language program recently took part in a hands-on cultural project, learning to build traditional teepees.
This activity not only strengthened their connection to ancestral knowledge but also symbolized the three tribes that make up the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs: the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Paiute. Working together, the students built three teepees, one to represent each tribe. The experience helped them develop a deeper understanding of their heritage.
