JCSD 509-J Will Continue The Comprehensive Distance Learning Model, But Pause “Limited In-Person” Supports Until January (Date To Be Announced):
Jefferson County School District 509-J has delivered instruction within the Comprehensive Distance Learning Model since the beginning of the school year due to high rates of COVID-19 cases within our county. During the week prior to Thanksgiving, we began to deliver limited in-person instruction to small groups of students within levels allowed in-state guidance.
This week we have become aware of a few key support staff who have tested positive for COVID-19. These employees must now self-quarantine and are temporarily unable to provide support services essential for limited in person instruction, including transportation. Therefore, we are pausing our “Limited In-Person Instruction” until further notice but will continue to deliver Comprehensive Distance Learning on a daily basis. At this time, there has been no spread of COVID-19 within school settings amongst staff or students.
These continue to be very challenging times in our country, our state, and our local communities. I want to thank our employees, students, and families for the continued collaboration, understanding, and patience. We will get through this public health challenge and we will be more connected to each other as we focus on continuing to support our students and ensure their success in school and life.

JCSD 509-J Continuará El Modelo Integral De Aprendizaje A Distancia, Pero Pausará Los Apoyos “Limitados en Persona” Hasta Enero (Fecha Que Se Anunciará):
El Distrito Escolar del Condado de Jefferson 509-J ha impartido instrucción dentro del modelo integral de aprendizaje a distancia desde el comienzo del año escolar debido a las altas tasas de casos de COVID-19 en nuestro condado. Durante la semana anterior al Día de Acción de Gracias, comenzamos a brindar instrucción limitada en persona a pequeños grupos de estudiantes dentro de los niveles permitidos por la orientación estatal.
Esta semana nos hemos enterado de algunos miembros del personal de apoyo clave que dieron positivo por COVID-19. Estos empleados ahora deben ponerse en cuarentena y temporalmente no pueden proporcionar los servicios de apoyo esenciales para la instrucción limitada en persona, incluido el transporte. Por lo tanto, estamos pausando nuestra “Instrucción en Persona Limitada” hasta nuevo aviso, pero continuaremos brindando Aprendizaje a Distancia Integral a diario. En este momento, no ha habido propagación de COVID-19 dentro del entorno escolar entre el personal o los estudiantes.
Estos siguen siendo tiempos muy desafiantes en nuestro país, nuestro estado y nuestras comunidades locales. Quiero agradecer a nuestros empleados, estudiantes y familias por su continua colaboración, comprensión y paciencia. Superaremos este desafío de salud pública y estaremos más conectados entre nosotros mientras nos enfocamos en continuar apoyando a nuestros estudiantes y asegurar su éxito en la escuela y en la vida.
