  1. Attention MHS! To kick off Homecoming Week we will have a BONFIRE Monday, September 25th starting at 8:00 pm! We will also have free S'MORES and HOT COCOA. It will be in the same spot as last year between the softball and baseball fields. Can't wait to see everyone there! It's gonna be LIT!
  1. IT’S HOMECOMING SEASON which means the time has come for our annual Powderpuff Kickoff. The game will start at 7:00 September 27th and will end at 8:00. Come prepared MHS, show your school spirit by wearing WHITE. Sign ups are attached to Mrs. PH’s door. SIGN UP TODAY! See you there MHS!
  1. The Oregon Promise Application opened 9/20/2017!  All senior students with a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher should submit an application.  Students may qualify for amounts ranging from $1,000 to $3,540 per year to assist in costs for attending any one of the 17 Oregon community colleges.   You can apply online at  Visit Ms. Sisk in the Future Center for more information or application assistance!
  1. Monday at lunch we are going to elect officers for SMILE and collect SMILE applications.  Ms. Fugates room, pizza provided!
  1. Calling all NHS members.  Remember there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, September 25th in Mr. Hair’s room during lunch.
  1. Attention interested students Western Oregon & Oregon Tech will be coming to MHS on Wednesday September 27th. Stop by Student Services to sign up to meet with these representatives. 
  1. The Oregon High School Equestrian Team, OHSET, season will start November 1st.  For more information please contact the Madras OHSET advisor, Keri Strawn at
  1. Juniors and Seniors, it's time for the annual Central Oregon College fair in Redmond! If you are interested in attending the college fair on the morning of October 5th, see Ms. Piercy in students services to sign up. Students must sign up, register and receive a barcode to reserve their space (See Ms. Piercy for details). The deadline to sign up is the end of lunchtime on October 4th, but there are limited spaces and sign ups are first come, first serve. Sign up today!
  1. LIGHTS, CAMERA, HOMECOMING…2017 homecoming is around the corner MHS.  Join us Saturday, Sept. 30th at 8pm-11pm in the commons for a semi-formal evening of dance and fun.  It is $10 per person and tickets go up $5 at the door.  Hope to see you there.
  1. The overnight trip to Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and tour of Southern Oregon University is October 27-28. The APPLICATIONS ARE DUE on MONDAY, SEPT. 25! You can get an application from your English teacher, the drama teacher Mrs. Payton, or the Front Office. Priority will be given to upperclassmen (since we'll likely get to do another trip in a few years), and to those with complete applications. Tickets to the plays, the bus ride, and the hotel are paid for, but you will need money for your meals. Apply ASAP!
  1. ATTENTION MHS! Are you interested in donating blood? Our next blood drive is Wednesday, Sept 27th in the gym. You can sign up in the commons during lunch. Remember, one donation of blood can save up to 3 lives. Hope we see you there!
  1. Any student that was approved for School-to-Work over the summer needs to turn in their packet to Mr. Tyler by Sept. 29 to receive credit. If you have any questions stop by Student Services.
